Explicit Version. From 1993 until his tragic death in 2004, the late great rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard led what was one-third of the now legendary Wu-Tang Clan dynasty of affiliated artists. Behind the scenes was producer/artist/engineer Buddha Monk, Ol' Dirty's right-hand man, organizing sessions, producing tracks, and getting Dirty from place to place, holding it all together. Fans never got to hear much from the mysterious Brooklyn Zu Family. Buddha Monk has finally agreed open his vault and unleash the fury of these never-before heard songs that harken back to the crew's most classic period. Featured on this album are none other than Ol' Dirty Bastard himself; Brooklyn Zu ft. 12 O'Clock, Murdoc, Shorty Shitstain; Lil Vicious; Da Manchuz; Shyheim; Prodigal Sunn; Freemurda; Shacronz; Lazah Life; & Zu Ninjaz. Producers include Buddha Monk, Mozart, & Lord Finesse.

SCENE MOB:

When X approached me about getting back into music, I was a little apprehensive... I had been out of commission, so to speak, for over 10 years. The Unreleased Album was a just that - songs that had been in the vault from old sessions, supposedly to fill in for songs I wanted replaced on My First Album, nothing was freshly created.
I was always jotting down lines in my phone, writing on scraps of paper, waking up and rhyming into my phone in the middle of the night ( it's in the blood I guess) but hadn't written a solid 16 or anything in years. Put out a call for beats on fb (Mistah Live, thank you fam) and Aneeway Jones sent me some treats (40 plus beats to choose from, thank you fam). Laced a few verses for King Cesar and the Organik album and felt that vibe coming back. SPITR started being formulated. We dropped Bourbon Street last year and it was received well.

SPITR is an acronym for Smartest Person In The Room. I chose this title because even though I've been compared to a few MCs, I always felt like I stood alone. Skill, creativity and wordplay have been things I stressed from Day 1. Been at this for 30 plus years and I try to come differently each time I get the opportunity to touch a mic and bless a beat. I'm no legend or OG, just a kid from Southside Queens who had a knack for putting words together in rhythmic form. Solo dolo from jump, I always feel as if I'm the only one in MY room, so... SPITR

Thank you to all those who helped this come to fruition and Much Respect to all the working class MCs and Producers who hold down a 9 to 5 in addition to pursuing your passion - now I know... that shit ain't easy!!!

SCENE MOB:

Over the past few years, DJ Scientist has become an important figure in the German Hip-Hop and Electronic scene. Running the international label Equinox Records and publishing a magazine (DEAD Magazine), he is also busy djing in clubs, releasing mixes, expanding his record collection and, last but not least, producing music.

Starting his DJ-career in 1995 and dropping several mixtapes to spread his name in his home town of Munich, he put out his first record in 2001 – a dj tool called “Mad Science Breaks”. One year later, the dark and melancholic “Misantropolis EP”, mainly produced by Scientist, was the first release on Audiac. Since then, he put his main effort into his label Equinox Records which now has its headquarters in Berlin.  In 2004 he produced 3 tracks for the critically acclaimed “Welcome to the Neo Golden Age – A Sound Exposure Vol.1” compilation.  Being part of the Equinox 10inch Series, his 4 track “Journey Goodbye EP” (2006) contained the outstanding “Atarius” as well as the soulful and bluesy “Autumn Leaves”.  Since late 2007, DJ Scientist has mainly been producing and recording music with rapper/multi-instrumentalist/singer Ceschi Ramos (of Fake Four Inc.).  Releases so far are the singles “Same Old Love Song” (2009, with 2Mex, Awol One & Myka Nyne) and “Count On It / Bad Jokes” (2008) as well as the first album with Ceschi, “The One Man Band Broke Up”, released in june 2010. In the same year, an instrumental version of the album with Ceschi was released under the name “The One Man Band Instrumentals”, which became his first full-length solo work. In 2011, Ceschi and Scientist released another EP called “Shorted Circuits” and continued working on their second album. With his “The Artless Cuckoo EP”, that dropped in early 2012, Scientist put focus on his solo works again and will drop his new album in October 2012.

SCENE MOB:

Deadly Venoms is a Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated all-female hip hop group formed in 1997 consisting of N-Tyce, J-Boo, Champ MC, and Finesse. X Clan-affiliated rapper Lin Que was initially intended to be part of the group but departed soon after its inception due to business decisions. Each member of the group were experienced rappers prior to joining the collective. Finesse recorded an album with rapper Synquis named Soul Sisters in 1988, Champ released her debut album Ghetto Flava on East West America/Atlantic Records, and N-Tyce was signed to Wild Pitch/EMI in the mid 1990s and released a few singles including the RZA-produced "Hush Hush Tip" featuring Method Man.The Deadly Venoms was J-Boo's professional introduction.

A legal dispute with A&M/PolyGram Records and the then-forthcoming merger between the MCA and PolyGram families of labels that formed the Universal Music Group forced its debut album, Antidote, to remain in its vaults, although the single “One More to Go” (featuring Inspectah Deck, Method Man, Cappadonna, Street Life, and GZA) b/w “Bomb Threat,” was released and the album was later leaked. Despite not being properly released, the album got positive reviews. The group was also featured on NBA All-Star and rapper Shaquille O'Neal's 1998 album Respect. Deadly Venoms' second album, Pretty Thugs, was also never properly released because of similar label disputes, this time with DreamWorks/Interscope/Universal Records. However, as with Antidote, copies of the record were leaked, and a promo CD was pressed.
