SCENE MOB:
The album has a slow feel to it and very soulful, it reminds you instantly of older New York rap. This is Griselda they are gritty themselves but the beats just add to it. Just like dope entrance music, it’s part of them and who they are the right music can cement your legacy even more. In this case, the album does that perfectly. Benny shined all throughout the album, the minimal features was a great idea as well. It’s his story, and while no one can tell your story only a few people can get close to tell there’s the same way. Only a few are able to relate to it as well and make an impact on someone else’s project. Of course Westside Gunn & Conway are on it including Royce Da 5'9" who assimilates very well into this. He has worked with Griselda before on his projects and the features work immensely well both ways. If someone wanted an introduction to NY rap in 2018 this would be one of the albums I would make them listen to along with “Mona Lisa” by Joell Ortiz. The two embody NY to the core as it still is gritty despite all of the popularity and different sounding music. We may have pop star rappers now but Benny reminds you of where we came from and how we started.
